The Power of Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine has long valued the practice of acupuncture for its ability to balance the body's energy, or Qi. Our practitioners at Herb4Us & Acupuncture expertly apply these techniques to stimulate specific points on your body. This process aids in releasing blocked energy channels, promoting healing and restoring balance.

In addition, we integrate modern medical knowledge with these traditional practices for a comprehensive approach to your health. Our team uses current scientific understanding of the body to enhance the effectiveness of our treatments. This fusion of ancient wisdom and modern science ensures you receive the most effective and holistic care possible.

What Acupuncture Services Do We Provide?

Our clinic offers a variety of acupuncture services tailored to your unique needs. General acupuncture involves the careful insertion of needles at specific points on your body, designed to stimulate energy flow and alleviate health issues. For those seeking cosmetic benefits, our facial acupuncture service reduces wrinkles, dark spots, and enhances skin tone for a rejuvenated appearance.

In addition to traditional acupuncture, we offer electric acupuncture and moxa treatments that further stimulate the body's healing response. Electric acupuncture uses a small current for enhanced pain relief and muscle relaxation, while moxa promotes better circulation and boosts immunity. Our cupping and infrared treatments are excellent adjunct therapies, aiding in detoxification and promoting deep tissue healing. All these services aim to restore balance and promote optimal health.

What to Expect During Your Session?

Before your acupuncture session at our clinic, we will send you a link to our patient portal to help us tailor your session to your specific needs and health history. Each session typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your specific needs and the treatment plan designed for you. We recommend you wear warm, loose clothing to facilitate easy access to acupuncture points which are commonly located on the feet, legs, hands, wrist, back, shoulders, and neck.

After the needles are carefully inserted at the appropriate points, you may feel a slight tingling or warmth, which is a positive sign of energy movement. Post-treatment, it's normal to experience a sense of calm and relaxation, with many patients reporting improved sleep and reduced stress levels. Remember, every individual's experience with acupuncture & acupressure / tuina is unique, and our team is here to ensure your comfort and wellbeing throughout the process.

However, not all treatments and conditions may be covered. For example, facial acupuncture, which can reduce wrinkles and improve skin tone, is often not deemed medically necessary by insurance companies, and thus, is typically not covered.

Before starting treatment, it's always best to check directly with your insurance provider to understand what your plan covers. At Herb4Us & Acupuncture, we are in-network providers for several major insurance companies and can assist you in understanding your plan’s deductibles and acupuncture benefits. • How many sessions will I need to see improvement in my condition?

The number of acupuncture sessions needed varies greatly depending on the individual and the nature of their condition. Acute conditions, such as a pulled muscle or sprain, might see improvement after a few sessions. Chronic conditions, on the other hand, often require a longer course of treatment to see significant progress.

Typically, a practitioner will assess your condition and provide a treatment plan that outlines the number of sessions recommended. This plan is usually flexible and can be adjusted based on your progress and response to treatment. It's important to remember that everyone's healing process is unique, and patience is key. Regular sessions and consistent follow-through are critical to achieving the best results.

  • Are there any side effects of acupuncture?

Generally, acupuncture is considered safe when performed by a qualified practitioner. Some people may experience minor side effects such as temporary soreness, light-headedness, or bruising at the needle sites. However, these are usually short-lived and subside on their own.

It's important to share your complete health history with your practitioner before starting treatment. This allows them to tailor the therapy to your specific needs and mitigate potential risks. While side effects are rare, they can occur if the treatment is not administered properly. Therefore, it's essential to seek treatment from a trained and certified professional.
